Mooring
Steady in-home support to keep family life on course
Mooring is our lighter level of in-home support, for when family life has found its rhythm and you’d like it to stay that way. Following the Isle Method, we stay closely connected to your household, reviewing routines so small changes are noticed early, while continuing to offer developmental guidance that helps your child keep progressing at every stage.
For families stepping down from Compass or Lighthouse
You’ve done the hard work, and routines are feeling settled. Mooring keeps that progress in place with regular check-ins, so good habits stick and you have expert support close at hand if anything starts to slip.
For families who want a steady expert eye
Even when things are going well, it’s reassuring to have someone who knows your family. We review routines, childcare practices and your child’s development, offering gentle guidance and fresh ideas to keep them progressing as they grow.
For families welcoming a new nanny
A change of nanny can unsettle even the most established routines. Mooring helps a new caregiver understand your family’s approach, keeping consistency for your child and confidence for everyone.
How it works
Every Mooring engagement begins with an Isle Assessment, or follows on from Compass or Lighthouse. We visit your home twice a month to review routines and progress, check in with you and your nanny, and share developmental guidance and ideas to support your child’s next steps, keeping family life running smoothly as they grow.

FAQs

we’ve got answers
-
Every family’s needs are different, so we’ll help you decide. Most families start with an advisory call, where we talk through what’s happening at home and what you’d like support with. From there, we’ll arrange your Isle Assessment, which gives us a full picture of your child, your routines and your household, and lets us suggest the level that suits you best. Your level isn’t fixed: as your child grows and your needs change, you can step up for more hands-on support or move to a lighter level whenever it feels right.

Every family’s journey with Isle begins with the Isle Assessment. Over two weeks, we spend time in your home during the moments that matter, observing how your child plays, eats and settles, and talking with you and your nanny about what’s working and what feels hard. We look at your child’s development as a whole, from routines and independence to communication and emotions, alongside the rhythm of your household. From there, we recommend the level of support that best suits your family, so everything that follows is tailored to you from the very start. The Assessment is included when you join any level, or $2,000 as a one-off.

Isle isn’t an agency, and we never replace your nanny. Instead, we give both you and your nanny the tools and support needed to create a developmentally appropriate environment for your child at home. We work alongside your family, offering experienced advice and plans tailored to you, to make family life that little bit easier. We help build a strong, balanced partnership between you, and if challenges arise, we offer a neutral, supportive voice to help you find a way forward. Our aim is to align your household, creating a space where everyone can thrive.

In the early stages, you’ll work directly with our founder, Sofia Parish, a Norland-trained early years professional with over a decade of experience in private households across the UK and US. As Isle grows, families may also work with consultants trained in the Isle approach and supported by Sofia. Isle prioritises keeping the same consultant with your family wherever possible.
-
While our expertise is rooted in the early years, we work with families with children from birth up to age eight. We also advise expectant parents, helping them plan their childcare needs and prepare for the best possible start to family life.
-
Yes. Family life rarely stays the same for long, so our levels are designed to move with you. Many families begin with more hands-on support and step down to a lighter level as routines settle, then step back up when a new stage arrives, such as a new sibling or starting school. We’ll review your support with you regularly and recommend changes whenever your needs shift, so you’re never paying for more than you need or managing with less.
